This page has been set up by John's family as a giving page for anyone who would like to make a donation to the RNLI in his memory. 

John is remembered for his tireless efforts as Chairman of the fundraising committee in Aberdeen, raising many thousands of pounds over the years for the local lifeboat station. He was never short of finding new and creative ideas for fundraising and galvanising the local community to support the lifeboats. In 2022, John proudly received a 20 year long service award from the RNLI in recognition of his voluntary contributions.

The family will also be adding John's name to the RNLI's lifeboat 'Shannon' based in Exmouth, which is just a few miles from where John spent his early years in Devon, before emigrating to South Africa with his family in 1948.
